Matthew obtains his doctorate in physical therapy from Sacred Heart University and holds advanced degrees and certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), United Soccer Coaches, and others. Weston’s experience in physical therapy has included state, provincial, and national level athletics, including multiple Olympic medalists. In January, 2018, Portland Timbers Football Club named Matt as their head performance physical therapist. He is now serving as the Director of Sports Medicine for the club. Prior to joining the Timbers, Weston served as head physical therapist for the Chinese national sailing team and the Shanghai provincial sports training academies. He has also served as an international presenter on sports physical therapy and training integration. Bridging the gap between rehabilitation and performance, Matthew focuses on a holistic approach to rehab and return to play.
